The Title Clerk handles the legal transfer of documents for the Motor Vehicles Division/DMV.
Key Responsibilities
Prepares tax and title documents.
Submits all legal transfer paperwork to the Motor Vehicles Division.
Verifies that funds have been collected and the correct lienholder paid off before processing applications.
Checks for accuracy in the application and ensures that all information is complete.
Signs over titles for all wholesalers who have paid in full.
Stays abreast of title regulations. Attends seminars held by local licensing bureaus and any available training on title regulations.
Completes monthly accounting reports.
Tracks and coordinates title corrections due to lost titles, POA, lien releases, statements of fact, etc.Works with dealerships, vendors and customers in a professional manner to obtain needed titles and supporting documentation for completion.
Core Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
One year of dealership Title experience and/or knowledge of area DMV requirements preferred
Strong computer skills; experience with DealerTrack or other automotive DMS systems a plus.
Excellent communication skills
Strong desire to provide outstanding customer service
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol test.
